James Onono is the Director of Technology at Ambulex Solutions, as the technical lead for technology service delivery, technology systems and solution design and implementation. He is also in charge of technology systems and solutions maintenance and operation. He has almost two decades of experience in the field of technology, specifically Telecommunications infrastructure and IT systems development, adoption and utilization. He has a specific role and interest in the adoption of futuristic technology in day to day life tasks and simplification of complex processes using adapted technology in any industry.

He currently works at Safaricom Limited as a manager in charge of Core Network technology operations. Safaricom is a telecommunications company in Kenya which specializes in transforming lives through the adoption and use of various technologies in simplifying day to day living tasks.

During almost two decades working at Safaricom he has been part of the transformation of the company from a telecommunications service provider to a provider of life changing technology solutions for both individuals and enterprise businesses. Among the most notable solutions is the Mpesa money transfer service and Mkopa lighting solution.

He has also been instrumental in training and mentoring young women through the women in technology (WIT) program that seeks to train, mentor and encourage young women to take a keener interest in various fields of emerging technologies through a training and internship program at Safaricom.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a special focus on Information Technology Systems. He is also a certified Prince 2 project manager and holds various technical certifications attained over the course of the last few years.
